Recent publication

Dr Stephanie Hirschbichler, MSc PhD is a senior physician at the Division of Neurology at St. Pölten University Hospital and a researcher at Karl Landsteiner University. She is co-author of a literature review that summarises the data on the effects of deep brain stimulation on cardiovascular symptoms in Parkinson's patients. The researchers were able to use the results of 26 studies for their analysis, but there is a lack of evidence to derive clear recommendations based on them. The study is freely available in the Journal of Neurology. Dr Stephanie Hirschbichler, MSc PhD, is conducting research as part of a Research Time Out (RTO), a funding instrument of Forschungsimpulse measurement.
