Visual scale to document acute dizziness in the hospital
Recent publication
A team at Krems University Hospital has developed an instrument to record subjective symptoms of dizziness and vertigo as well as gait disorders in inpatients. The so-called Krems Acute Vertigo/Dizziness Scale, KAVEDIS for short, was used for four diagnoses and retrospectively validated: Meniere's disease, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, peripheral vestibular hypofunction and vestibular migraine. The results suggest that KADEVIS improves communication between the treating staff and reliably indicates deteriorations in the patient's condition.
