Prevalence and incidence of venous thromboembolism in geriatric patients

...  admitted to long-term care hospitals

Recent publication

Researchers analysed the risk of venous thromboembolism in geriatric patients over the age of 65 during their stay in a long-term care hospital. The researchers retrospectively analysed data routinely collected from 1148 patients in Vienna. They compared the frequency of venous thromboembolism in general with the new occurrence during hospitalisation. Doctors from St. Pölten University Hospital took part in the data analysis and interpretation.
