Important information for researchers

Predatory Journal Warning

We would like to take this opportunity to make all researchers aware of the increasing number of predatory journals. Predatory journals typically solicit submissions aggressively, charge high OA fees and have no peer review process. These journals are not listed on Scopus or on the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). DOIs provided do not work. These dubious providers aim to make high profits. Despite all caution, it can be difficult to identify fraudulent journals. We therefore strongly recommend contacting the Library Services team early throughout the publication process (BEFORE submission). A thorough review of the journal will protect researchers from fraudulent intentions. In addition, timely contact can ensure that publication costs are covered through timely budgeting and review of publication guidelines.
