Prof Dr Julia Mascherbauer, Head of the Division of Internal Medicine 3 at the KL University Hospital St. Pölten is first author of the publication in the European Journal of Clinical Investigation on the EASE-IT CT Register. Four centres from Austria and Germany are participating in the prospective study. The aim is to establish computed tomography angiography as an alternative to invasive coronary angiography prior to transcatheter aortic valve implantation. A total of 150 patients over the age of 75 with severe aortic stenosis are to be included. The registry is supported by Edwards Lifesciences Corporation and the Institute of Pharmacology and Preventive Medicine Cloppenburg. The work has been published open access.
