Funding information


The aim of the programme is to support the careers of researchers and promote excellence in research. The postdoctoral fellowships are aimed at postdoctoral researchers who are conducting research abroad. Submission deadline is 11 September 2024.

There are 2 types of postdoctoral fellowships:

  • European Postdoctoral Fellowships. These fellowships are awarded in an EU Member State or a country associated with Horizon Europe and can last between 1 and 2 years.
  • Global Postdoctoral Fellowships. The duration of the fellowship is 2 to 3 years, with the first 1 to 2 years spent in a non-associated third country, followed by a mandatory return phase of 1 year to an institution in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe associated country.
     

Researchers interested in PFs

  • should have a doctoral degree
  • have a maximum of eight years of research experience (from the award of the doctoral degree)
  • must comply with the mobility rules

Support for the application process

The FFG offers applicants documents with basic and detailed information on the programme as well as various other forms of assistance

 

Support from the KL Research Service

  • Strategic advice on the project application and any issues relating to your research project
  • Searching for suitable cooperation partners
  • Assistance with developing your ideas and proposal checking
  • Assistance with meeting the requirements of the funding guidelines and internal KL guidelines
  • Administrative support with obtaining approval for research projects from the KL rector’s office
