Circumferent dissection of the ascending aorta resulting in the occlusion of supra-aortic vessels
... repaired using the frozen elephant trunk technique - a case report
Recent publication
Case description of a successful frozen elephant trunk in a patient with aortic dissection. The dissection of the ascending aorta and the aortic arch led to partial occlusion of the aortic vessels prior to surgery. The successful operation ensured that there were no neurological symptoms due to the dissection. The detailed case description from the Division of Cardiac Surgery at the KL University Hospital St. Pölten was published in the ‘Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery’.
