Palliative care in terminally ill advanced chronic liver disease patients

Recent publication

In a review paper, physicians at the Medical University of Vienna and the Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences described the role of palliative care for patients with advanced chronic liver disease. The challenge in caring for this group of patients is the unpredictable disease progression and the high burden of symptoms. A multidisciplinary team that is in constant communication with each other can provide individualised care based on the patient's needs. The aim is to ensure that patients receive all available quality-of-life improving measures. Thanks to the Open Access funding by the KL, the work has been published open access in the Central European Jpurnal of Medicine.
